After an ice storm the witness developed severe pneumonia with high fever and could not tend his fire. He reported the creature looking in on him, leaving meat, a headless rabbit and herbs he boiled, then carrying him down the canyon over hours or days until a couple in a converted school bus found him and got him to a hospital.

The driver quickly turned the bike to leave while the passenger slipped off, glanced briefly, and saw the creature stand up much larger than a person before it disappeared from view. The pair reported the sighting to family members at the cabin but were not taken seriously.
