Late at night at his hillside home, the witness was on the driveway and porch trying to get his two large dogs to go into the woods below. A very loud, powerful yell or holler erupted from close range downhill, which he felt vibrate through his body and which silenced all dogs in the area. His dogs froze with raised hackles staring downhill, then pigs and possible raccoons were heard moving up a valley, followed by distant dogs barking uphill as if something moved away quickly.

A group of four campers spent the evening at an equestrian campsite beside the forest. After hearing walking sounds and a faint scream-like sound, they watched nearby treetops shake violently while hearing cracking and rattling branches. The shaking then stopped abruptly leaving the woods silent, frightening the group into dousing the fire and going inside. A next-morning search found no footprints or fallen limbs.

The witness estimated it was very tall and thick-chested with long arms and light brown/tan hair.

They heard knocking sounds, snorting, and sounds they interpreted as a deer being killed very close by. As they left the area they photographed eyeshine that appeared well above a three-foot-tall crop in an adjacent field.

The witness braked to a near stop and watched the animal cross the road in long unhurried strides, step over a barbed wire fence, and disappear into the woods. The witness and a companion were on foot scouting hunting ground in daylight when the witness noticed a large reddish-brown figure moving in the timber nearby. The witness saw only from the mid-shoulders up for a few seconds before turning toward the companion and looking back to find it gone. The companion did not see the figure but heard movement and footfalls, and a strong musky odor was noticed as the figure moved away.

A witness and a relative were carrying camping gear to canoes in the afternoon when they heard an extremely loud bellow followed by muffled talking-like sounds. The witness retrieved a shotgun and moved toward a river point while the relative watched from the canoes. The witness heard heavy footsteps and brush movement heading toward the rapids but saw nothing, and found dry crossing rocks with no splashing. He concluded whatever made the sounds must have leapt rock to rock to cross.

Three people paddleboarding in the shallow back end of a lake at sunset came across a long trackway of very large footprints in the mud under the water. The prints appeared to follow elk tracks and occasionally veered aside near underwater nest-like depressions with shells. No figure or animal was seen, and the witnesses estimated a foot far larger than a human foot with very long strides. The tracks had washed away by the next day.

The companion heard the sounds and smelled the odor but did not see the figure, and the pair quickly returned to their vehicle.

After the figures continued circling the camp, the two packed the tent without breaking it down and drove away around 4 a.m.

The witness imitated the calls and heard a two-call reply, imitated that, then heard a sharp wood crack and a different, agitated howl. In mid-August 2012 around 1-2 a.m., the witness and a companion were driving on a rural wooded road when headlights illuminated a very large dark bipedal animal moving into the woods. The animal was described as much taller and wider than a tall adult man, with long swinging arms, and disappeared within seconds. Both occupants first thought it could be a bear before concluding it was walking on two legs.

Two people setting bobcat traps in a secluded mature forest found a section of pine trees twisted and snapped off. Several trees were strewn across and blocked the road they were walking, while others were suspended high off the ground and woven between other trees. The witnesses felt the area was creepy and left after gathering their traps.
