The witness was driving south on a highway late at night with his companion asleep in the back seat. As he passed the median shoulder he saw a large black upright figure standing close to the car. He could see the torso from ground to shoulder, the arm along the thigh and a lighter-skinned hand, but not the face which was shadowed. He did not stop and reported feeling extreme anxiety and fear.

The witness was hiking in a preserve in the morning to photograph wildlife when he heard a noise and saw a large dark figure to his left. He watched it walk upright at a fast, purposeful pace across the trail and into palmettos, then heard it moving away as birds and insects fell silent. He searched for tracks or hair but found none, photographing only the crossing location for scale.

On the morning of November 15, the witness was deer hunting when back-and-forth calling was heard lasting until daybreak. The witness was sitting in a deer stand in the morning when they heard movement in the brush. A large dark animal then walked across a small clearing about 40 yards away. The witness watched it cross the clearing without being detected, and it never looked in their direction.

The witness was driving on a paved road through pine forest on a clear afternoon and crested a hill. A tall creature with broad shoulders and reddish-brown matted fur emerged and crossed the road just ahead of the car in a few fast strides. The witness reported a good view of the body but did not get a clear view of the face, as the creature did not look toward the car.

The witness climbed into a deer blind before dawn to hunt. Shortly after sitting down, he heard a sustained higher-pitched howl from one side and a lower sustained response from the other side, neither matching animals he knew. Minutes later while getting binoculars from his truck, he heard a low gruff voice-like sound resembling "Hey You" from close range, then returned to the blind.

While hunting deer in the late morning, the witness found two sizes of barefoot-like impressions in frozen dirt along the same trail. Some impressions showed five toes with no claw marks. The larger prints were bigger than the witness's boot and spaced wider than the witness could step, while the smaller prints were roughly boot-sized.

While doing so he heard loud roar-like screams and howls from two unseen sources to his left and right that seemed to converge toward his position. The investigator and several companions were walking a grass road at night and made a loud call. A long drawn-out answer came from dense woods that sounded like a flawed coyote imitation. Owls called nearby and the group felt the source paralleled them.

The witness, his wife, and two dogs stayed at the family cabin months after a large fire. At night something thumped the house hard and moved outside while the dogs cowered. The next morning the woods were silent, neighbors reported something stomping around, and acorns and pebbles were thrown toward them near the car.

The witness was away deer hunting while contractors re-sided the home. The contractors reported having rocks thrown at them over two days, with one rock hitting a worker, followed on two later evenings by loud growls from woods only yards behind them. They dropped their tools and left promptly each night.
