The witness was driving at night on a road through a swamp area when headlights revealed a large hairy biped standing in the road. As the witness braked and approached, the figure appeared on the roadside about 10 feet from its original position without being seen to move, then vanished toward the swamp. The witness stopped within about 20 feet and described the figure as about 7-8 feet tall with dark hair tipped with silver-grey and a deep chest.

They saw a large limb held straight out and striking back and forth between two close-set trees about 20 feet away. One witness glimpsed a dark unidentified shape believed to be part of a dark arm that seemed to rise from leaning over before the noise stopped and moved away behind the trees.

The wife noticed a single file of large bipedal-looking tracks crossing the area near a toilet building. The husband got out, examined them in deep snow, and noted a long clean stride with no drag marks before the trail continued into pines. The pair reported seeing almost no deer sign in the area.
