Two people coasting downhill on a motor scooter stopped at a clearcut to look at the view on a clear afternoon. They saw a large brown biped rise from the grass about 100 yards away and walk along the treeline, glancing at them before stepping up a bank into the forest. After waiting about 15 minutes they inspected the area and found a matted grass circle and large footprints leading away.

The witness was camping overnight at an alpine lake with a dog when a loud high-pitched scream shifting to a low roar was heard for a couple minutes very close to camp. The dog became agitated with raised hackles and the witness was frightened. A young couple camped a few hundred yards away heard the same sound outside their site with snapping branches and pacing, and both parties left the lake the next morning.

After rocks were thrown, the animal stood and moved toward them on two legs, then circled their camp for about three hours while staying outside the firelight. No tracks or other sign were found the next morning.

In 1984 two teenage companions were hanging out near a river swimming area under a bridge before dusk when they both noticed a tall, dark, hair-covered human-like figure running between trees on the far side of the river. The figure moved fast with human-like motion, slightly stooped, glanced at them while running, and quickly disappeared. Both fled home and told the witness's parents, who did not believe them.

He saw a large hair-covered light-colored figure standing behind a fence watching him as he drove past. As the witness ran toward home, the figure ran alongside in the brush making deep grunt and roar-like sounds. The figure stopped and stayed crouched in cover at the edge of an open field while the witness continued home and reported what happened to a parent.

The witness was driving home in the early morning hours when she came around a curve and saw a tall, dark-furred upright figure by the roadside that appeared to have just crossed from the river side. The figure watched her as she drove past, walking unhurriedly, and she continued without stopping while her companions slept. She described it as very tall with matted dark fur covering its body, mostly upright with a slight slouch.
