They heard grunting sounds from a cave directly above them and later heard a high-pitched whistle-scream as they walked away. Looking back, they saw the rear of a creature described as a Bigfoot going over the top of the ravine.

In 1985 west of Eugene near Veneta, a couple coasting downhill on a Vespa scooter found a creature resting in a roadside ditch. The sandy-brown creature with reddish hair was sleeping, then turned to look at them as they passed by.

A camper spending the night near a lake off Highway 140 heard prolonged frightening screams lasting several minutes. The next day the camper searched the area the sounds seemed to come from and found indistinct tracks in trail duff, one containing a squashed baby porcupine. The camper reportedly made a cast of one track.

While doing a meditative reading for her adult daughter at home, the witness saw three small beings inside a pixelated sphere on the turned-off television screen. She describes them communicating by hand movements while her daughter was frightened and wanted to block them. The image stayed for hours and conveyed a message about higher self, then never recurred.

At age 13 or 14 the witness was deer hunting with his father on reclaimed coal land. After hearing his father fire three aimed shots, he walked to a holler and heard speech-like chatter, then two quadrupedal hairy animals burst from brush and ran toward him. He fired three times without hitting them, then learned his father had also seen and shot at the same two animals.

The witness, age nine or ten, woke at night while staying at her aunt and uncle's trailer and opened the window. A Bigfoot was staring in eye-to-eye from within a foot, breathing audibly. After she alerted the other girl, the creature walked then ran bipedally to the cornfield while four people in the home watched, and her uncle fired to scare it off.
Footsteps near Sisters, Oregon (1985)
Four companions camped at the dead-end to grouse hunt and heard huge bipedal footsteps approach the tents at night despite shouting and warnings. They fired many shotgun shells as the sounds circled just inside the treeline. Driving out, headlights revealed a very tall human-like figure by a tree; next morning they found collapsed tents, sticks, and footprints circling camp and reported it to the ranger station.

During deer season the witness shot a large buck, gutted it, and left briefly to meet companions at a rock bluff. Hearing talking at the kill site, he returned to find the whole deer and gut pile gone except blood. He tracked a single line of footprints deeper into the wilderness for a mile or more before losing them.

While scouting alone off the dead-end road, the witness heard a deer run past and then heard loud talking nearby that sounded like a foreign language. He whistled and the voices whistled back, then moved and went silent when he approached. He found no one there and later learned his companions had not made the sounds.

While driving at night on a rural road to help a friend, the witness ran low on gas and slowed to a crawl. A tall, massive hair-covered figure stepped from a field and jaywalked across the road in front of her car, then turned to look at her. She felt it communicated awareness of her, then it continued into the opposite field while she drove away.

The witness was collecting firewood on a relative's land in southern Maine in the summer of 1985. After hearing an unspecified noise behind them twice, the witness turned and saw an entity standing about 30 feet away watching them. The witness then left the area quickly.

When the witness was about ten, a backyard motion light drew attention at the family farm late at night. The witness watched from a back bedroom through blinds as an animal pulled trash bags from cans and a burn barrel, scattering and rummaging through garbage. The witness told no one at the time and cleaned up the scattered trash the next morning.

While hunting in a wooded area, the witness and a friend watched from a hill as their dog barked nearby. They saw a hair-covered figure where two ravines met about 100 yards below. The figure looked at them, took two steps, and disappeared back up the ravine. The witness confirmed the sighting with the friend at the time and told no one else for years.
Woman remembers encountering a strange animal while driving outside Mexico Beach
Late at night while traveling by car toward Mexico Beach, Florida, the witness encountered an animal squatting at the edge of the pavement near County Road 386 and Highway 98. As the car approached, the animal jumped up and ran bipedally across the road in front of the car into woods on the other side. It was described as about five to six feet tall with long dark shaggy hair with red highlights, and its face was not recalled.

The witness was taking a morning walk on the paved road in front of the house when a creature covered in green vegetation crossed the road at a small bridge over a creek. The creature moved with an ape-like lope, looked toward the witness, then crawled down the bridge embankment into the shallow creek and disappeared. The witness ran to the creek but found no trace.
Night hunters hear strange screams in the woods
Two people stood on a hilltop field at night imitating owls to elicit responses. Instead they heard a loud scream or moan from toward the river, heard it again closer after calling again, then heard something large moving quickly uphill through the woods toward them. They retreated to their truck, drove toward the gate, and heard additional screams from the woods and hayfield.

The witness was a passenger in a car with five companions driving at night. A large dark hair-covered figure on two feet ran across the divided highway in front of the car, crossing multiple lanes in a few seconds. Only the witness and the driver saw it, and the driver stopped briefly before reversing to a turnaround and leaving.
Witness clearly views a very tall bipedal creature at home near Charlotte
The witness was sitting in a kitchen with relatives in the afternoon when they saw a tall hair-covered biped moving very quickly through weeds at the edge of the yard. One relative also saw it. The group then went outside and saw it again in the yard as it dashed behind a storage building and disappeared toward a fence, fields and woods. They were frightened and did not look for tracks.

The witness and a friend hiked into high meadows and noticed an unusually tall figure at a distance. At dusk on the way out they saw movement pacing in front of bushes and approached while calling out. Between two overlapping bushes they saw two upright hair-covered beings facing them in defensive postures. They backed away out of sight, then ran down the trail to their motorcycle and drove out.

The witness was up early for school at a remote home when the dog began barking hysterically toward the canyon. The witness looked out the kitchen window and saw a tall hair-covered biped running into the canyon with a side-to-side motion. The witness ran to alert parents, but by the time they reached the window it was gone except for a brief last glimpse between bushes.
