While driving a rental on a curvy road near a campground west of Greenville, the guest and his partner watched a large hairy biped step from a yard toward the road between their car and a following maroon car, which swerved into a ditch. The large one crossed in two steps and scrambled up a steep embankment where two smaller similar figures were seen from behind walking away. Both occupants saw colors and smelled a strong odor, and the following family also reacted.

As a teenager the guest and three friends sat on car hoods at night on a straight gravel road in river bottoms. They saw a figure standing in the middle of the road while a scream erupted from near an oil derrick about 25 meters away. The boys scrambled into the car and drove away, later disagreeing on details, with one friend reporting a closer figure by the derrick.
