While descending a mountain trail alone after climbing with companions, the rider stopped for unknown reasons and heard loud growling nearby that the mind reinterpreted as water. The rider felt suddenly hot and euphoric and began removing clothing despite cold wet weather until companions arriving and splashing through water broke the state. Later on the same ride the group found very large fresh human-like footprints without claws in untouched mud.

Low on gas at night, three young men camped in a clearing up a mountainside. While gathering wood by a dry creek bed, the witness saw a bipedal silhouette step behind a tree, assuming a friend. All night they heard substantial branch breaking moving around the clearing. They stayed by the fire until morning.

The witness was riding with both parents on a highway in northwest Florida near a river bridge. The mother first thought she saw a person in a ghillie suit, but the father braked and identified it as a skunk ape. The witness saw a tall, reddish-brown, two-legged figure walk away from the river and crouch into tall brush.

Responses approached, then stopped, followed by heavy bipedal steps and rocks thrown from the front on both sides. They threw rocks back for many minutes until a rock came from the direction they had entered, making the guest conclude they were surrounded.
