They noticed two red reflections in the treeline that approached them, revealing a furry, lumbering figure with red eyes reflecting the light. When it came within a few feet, the brothers dropped their gear and fled home in fear.

Another driver ahead also appeared to see it, and both drivers later stopped at a gas station and confirmed to each other that they had seen something unusual. The [name withheld] stated it was not a bear and has since shown the spot to friends but never investigated on foot.

The witness was baiting coon traps on a powerline edge after dark when he heard something approaching in the woods. The source stayed about 10 yards inside the treeline pacing back and forth and did not emerge. When the witness shone a flashlight toward the sounds he could see nothing for undergrowth, heard whooping, and the source ran off.
