After moving to a clearing, a large log and then a limestone slab were thrown from an uphill wooded area toward a companion's ATV, barely missing the rider. Loud thumps and breaking branches suggesting something heavy running downhill followed, and the group started their vehicles and left quickly.

The reporter states that in the late 1970s her father was driving a school bus early in the morning when a large hair-covered man- and ape-like creature came down a deer path. He braked and watched it run across the road and continue down the path on the other side for about a minute. A black, bipedal figure then stepped out and walked quickly across the clearing. The witness, then a child on a family vacation at a wooded campsite at Nolin Lake, was standing inside a camper at dusk looking down a hill. The witness saw a grayish-brown hairy figure partly hidden behind a tree, showing head, shoulder, arm, hip and thigh. After turning to speak with a parent, the witness looked back and the figure was gone, and remained frightened inside the camper.

After dogs in a hollow below barked then fell suddenly silent, the group heard movement in brush and saw a tall fur-covered figure stand at the hill edge making huffing sounds. When the driver turned on the car headlights the figure covered its face and moved behind trees as the group fled in the car.

The witness was walking home through a graveyard at dusk when they noticed a large dark hairy creature among the tombstones. The creature paced, appeared to dig at a grave, made wailing sounds, and made shoulder-shrugging and hopping movements. When it noticed the witness it acted agitated and started toward them, causing the witness to leave.

The witness reports that during winter 1978-79 the household repeatedly heard loud howls and screams late at night around their rural home. Drain pipes around the home were knocked down and many large human-like footprints were found. The tracks were later destroyed by the witness's father, and the witness interprets the sounds and tracks as a Sasquatch passing through.

The witness camped alone overnight on a ridge and was awakened around 10 p.m. by a loud, unfamiliar animal call heard from three directions around the tent. The accompanying dog reacted fearfully while the witness could see nothing with a flashlight. The witness left all gear and hiked out that night, returning the next day to find everything untouched and no tracks.

The witness and two companions were coon hunting at night in a hollow when their dogs became frightened and refused to lead. From 80 to 100 yards ahead they heard an extremely loud 6- to 7-second bellow-roar rising to high-pitched cries, then later a low 5-second growl from about 50 yards and a second shorter high-pitched scream after reaching the ridge top. They never saw the source and returned home without further incident.

The witness was on a family drive with two relatives in Vinton County in the fall of 1986 or 1987 when a tall hair-covered biped ran across the road ahead of their vehicle while being chased by three to four dogs. After waking to a noise and standing up, the witness heard screaming, growling/grunting and trees snapping as something moved away quickly. About 50 yards away, the witness saw a reddish-haired figure walking south toward a road, initially thinking it was a man before deciding it was not.
