The reporter did not see the source, but the companion reportedly saw something about seven feet tall, after which both fled to the driveway.

Five children playing behind the family property during a get-together noticed something moving along the railroad tracks behind the yard. When they looked, it stopped, turned, and looked back at them from about 60 yards away before they ran back to the house in fright. They described it as a huge, tall, dark, muscular figure about seven and a half feet tall.

In spring 1978 the witness and a companion were parked in a car off a rural road in creek-bottom woods when a foul odor filled the area. They then heard nearby low grunts that erupted into an extremely loud, shrill scream that seemed to shake the car. Panicked, the witness drove away immediately and avoided the area afterward.

On New Year's morning in 1978 the witness was riding as a passenger south on Highway 37 over the Alafia River when she saw a large hairy figure squatting at the water's edge splashing water. She got out at the bridge rail for a closer look; the figure looked up, stood, briefly faced her, then climbed the bank into the woods. Her sister, the driver, saw it as it entered the woods, after which they left in the car.

In the early afternoon the witness was gigging for frogs from a relative's boathouse pier when a tall, dark, hairy biped emerged from a swamp about 175-250 yards away and waded knee-deep into the water. The creature looked both ways, bent over twice to swing an arm into the water with a splash as if fishing, then stared toward the witness before walking back into the swamp like a person. A few minutes later it reappeared at the same spot and repeated the same actions before leaving again and not returning during another hour the witness remained.

While camping with relatives in swampy woods, the witness heard prolonged screaming and strange noises through the night that frightened the group. They were unable to leave due to muddy roads and remained in camp until morning. At first light they found small trees snapped over, grass flattened, and what they described as huge footprints.

A young pilot with two passengers flew a small Cessna from the Miami area toward the Bahamas and entered a tunnel-like cloud. The plane emerged over Cuba, landed on a road, took off again, and later crash-landed farther in the Bahamas. The pilot died but the two passengers survived to describe the tunnel and fog.

The witness was at a cabin in East Texas in the evening and went to her truck to get a wallet. As she grabbed the door handle the whole truck shook violently and she saw a huge dark mass hunched in the bed, taller than the cab. The mass flew silently across the road and railroad tracks while both she and her fiancé watched, and no tracks were found the next day.

The caller says at fourteen while deer hunting he waited alone on a riverbank in fog. Something came out of the river about fifty feet away, walked upright and dark like a bear but with rounded primate ears. It moved branches with a hand, sniffed his incoming trail, then angled off. As a teenager plowing bottomland alone, the witness stalled his tractor while turning under a tree. He then noticed a large dark bipedal figure along a distant fence line leaning side to side and moving a branch aside as if looking at him. After watching briefly he fled, managed to restart the tractor, and left; when he looked back the figure was gone.

On the same trip, after hitchhiking back toward the parked truck, the witness got out in pitch darkness without a flashlight. From the side of the road the witness heard a grunt and movement approaching, then ran to the truck, started it, and drove away without seeing the source.

While on leave and hiking toward Yosemite Falls, the witness slept in a mummy bag without a tent. After dark something approached on two feet and repeatedly pushed the bag with what felt like fingers and knuckles, then walked away. The witness waited, looked around, and saw nothing.

After other children left the field to go to the house, the witness stayed alone in the dark. A bright light behind him revealed a low saucer-shaped craft with spinning lights around its edge. It hovered, lit the area like daylight with a humming sound, then rose instantly high into the sky, and he ran home.
