Two people were camping on an island when they heard strange noises through the night into the morning. Around 8 a.m. the noises stopped and they heard something large running on a nearby island, accompanied by a very bad odor. They later found many large tracks around their island, plus a pile of clam shells and a large indentation that had not been there earlier.

The witness and two companions were camping by a river and went upstream climbing rocks to find a spot to jump into the water. Across the river they noticed movement in a brush-filled crevasse and watched a large dark-haired figure crouching and then climbing upward on its hind legs while holding trees and rocks. After losing sight of it in dense vegetation, they returned to camp and cut the trip short.

The witness was searching for veterans' graves in a cemetery in the early evening when they noticed movement to the northeast along the tree line. At first thinking it was a deer, the witness then perceived a very large, dark, bipedal human-shaped figure watching from the shadows about 100 to 150 yards away. Feeling watched, the witness backed away to their car and left.

The witness reports hearing strange laughter-like sounds from woods near a companion's house over several months, later followed by almost nightly yard disturbances. Other household members and a neighbor also heard the sounds, and trash was disturbed, items knocked over, and apples went missing while dogs barked. The witness never saw the source and states no physical evidence was recovered, with activity stopping when weather turned cold.

While hiking a trail with a companion to look for the source of prior night sounds, the witness found a single fresh barefoot-like print beside the trail. In July 2001 the witness was driving north on State Route 170 near Fredericktown, Ohio in the morning. From under 100 yards away he saw a very tall, dark brown, hair-covered creature cross the road from east to west in long, fast strides. By the time he reached the crossing point only the back of the creature was visible as it went over a hill out of sight.

After hearing rustling in the woods, the witness observed a tall hairy figure in profile moving very quickly on two legs with its arms swaying. The relative did not see the figure. The witness initially considered a bear but rejected that idea because the figure lacked bear-like ears and a snout.
