A couple camped overnight near a stock pond and the wife stayed awake in the back of the truck with a frightened dog while her husband slept. She watched a very tall dark figure standing about 25 yards away for several minutes before it took several steps toward the pond on two legs and later disappeared. She reported no odor or other sounds besides the dog, and a morning search found no tracks.

They left quickly, and the husband returned later that evening and found disturbed leaves and torn ground where it had gone.

A large backpacking group was camped in timber near a lake and preparing for the day's hike. They heard several loud whooping vocalizations coming from up the trail and initially assumed another hiking group was nearby. They later found no sign of other visitors in the area and noted an absence of small wildlife.

Night time road crossing northwest of Vernal, Utah
Three people riding in an SUV at night saw an animal step over a roadside fence and cross the road in the headlights. The animal turned to look at the vehicle, then continued across and scaled a steep embankment on all fours before disappearing out of sight. Unclear impressions including knuckle marks were found on the embankment the next day.
Two elk hunters & tall bipedal creature startle each other at Chalk Creek east of Coalville
While hunting elk at dusk, the witness and a companion climbed out of a draw and surprised a tall black hair-covered creature about 30 feet away. The creature made a loud whoof sound as it moved into a small stand of pines, displacing a bough. After the pair backed away, it gave a low guttural growl ending with teeth clicking, frightening them enough to leave.

The witness and three family members stopped their ATVs on a mountain shoulder overlooking a meadow and forest. After the witness twice imitated alleged sasquatch vocalizations, something answered from the nearby forest. The group left quickly after a cow moose bolted from the trees while looking back. The witness noted the answering sound did not match familiar wildlife but remained unconvinced it was a sasquatch.

The witness was hiking with family members after missing a turn and ending up on an overgrown game trail. In a clearing they found a single large footprint in hard dirt that the witness could not replicate by jumping on it. Four companions on a nighttime hike in a canyon stopped when they heard an extremely loud distant sound lasting 15-20 seconds that echoed through the mountains. The sound began like a distant motorcycle and shifted into a mechanical scream, frightening the group into running down to the valley bottom. They could not identify the source, and the reporter later felt an online Bigfoot scream recording was the closest match.

The witness and a companion were driving west at night when a large hairy figure came up from a river bottom and crossed the highway in their headlights. After he made a family hoot call, the figure hid motionless behind a narrow tree for 30-45 minutes, then sprinted away on two legs when he approached, outrunning him to a cliff area.

The witness and a companion were fishing at a lake in the morning when they noticed a dark brown animal drinking at the water's edge about 200 yards away. The animal then stood up and moved into the woods walking like a human, appearing broad-shouldered and muscular. They watched it briefly for about 10 seconds before leaving camp hurriedly.

While camping with family the witness slept in a companion's vehicle because of cold and snow. Between 11pm and 2am he awoke feeling watched and saw an upright figure cross the meadow in front of the vehicle heading north. The figure was estimated at 6.5 to 7 feet tall and was visible for a few seconds at 75 to 100 yards before walking into the woods.

The witness was hunting alone from a ridge when repeated very loud, short guttural shouts or growls approached from about 200 yards to about 75 yards, accompanied by rapidly approaching breaking brush. He never saw the source but readied a camera and rifle while waiting motionless. After a spooked cow moose ran through a distant saddle, he threw rocks and fired a shot with no response and then left.

The witness and a relative were riding an ATV back toward camp at dusk when alerted to a figure nearby. About 50 feet away, a large dark upright figure walked parallel to them along an old fence line before turning into the woods and disappearing. In April 1999 the witness and family were gathered around a campfire at night near a stream in the Tushar Mountains when they heard loud branch-breaking from the woods across the stream for several minutes. The sounds were followed by a human-like screaming cry that sent several children running to a nearby cabin. The witness, described as an avid hunter, said the cry matched no known local animal and thought a human prank was possible but unlikely.
