August 2005; Temagami, Ontario - A father, his son and girlfriend are witness to several incidents in northern Ontario.
The witness and two companions explored a deforested and mined area with piled boulders and abandoned mine buildings. Over about an hour they heard tapping from the woods, running footfalls, crashing in brush, and other strange noises, while stones were reportedly thrown toward the companions. They also found many snapped trees and a very large mound of possible scat that a tossed rock sank into.

The witness and three relatives returned at night by power boat to the isolated shore where trees had swayed earlier that day. They cut the engine about 20 feet from shore and watched into the darkness. Three objects splashed close to the boat over about a minute, believed to be thrown rocks, with no other sounds heard, before they restarted the engine and left.
Hikers find possible tracks and other sign on an old logging road outside North Bay
Three companions were walking a little-used logging trail north of North Bay near dusk when they found two barefoot-like half prints at the edge of a large puddle. The prints were described as human-like with five toes but about twice the width of the witness's own foot, with no other tracks around. Earlier on the same walk they had seen a small healthy tree snapped off high above the ground, and afterward they noticed bent trees that resembled a sleeping spot, though they discounted both.
Pre-dawn road crossing sighting by trucker 40 miles west of Toronto
The witness was driving to work on a rural road before dawn when headlights illuminated a tall, hair-covered figure walking upright on the roadside. As the vehicle closed to within 50 feet, the figure stepped off the roadway into a ditch and disappeared into the bush. The witness did not stop at the time and reported the encounter afterward.
Family describes possible rock throwing while fishing in Lake Superior Provincial Park
The witness, his wife, and their infant son walked to a fishing pool along a brushy creek after noticing a strong odor. While the witness fished, his wife heard a rock land beside her on a gravel bar, followed by cracking noises like branches breaking underfoot in the forest behind them. The witness threw rocks toward the sounds thinking it was a bear, but the noises continued, so the family packed up and left without further incident.
Possible whistles heard by campers north of Sault Saint Marie
A group camping at a remote lakeside beach camp was sitting around the fire around 11 p.m. when they all heard an eerie, tune-like whistling from the pitch-dark woods. They moved out of the fire glare to look and shone a light toward the sound, after which it stopped with no source found. The witness's dog showed no reaction, and no further activity occurred that night.

The witness was camping with a companion and the companion's parents in northern Ontario. Around 9-10 pm as it grew dark, the group heard a loud, clear vocalization first thought to be a wolf or coyote but then judged to be neither. The sound continued for an extended period. The next day the witness compared wildlife recordings and found a BFRO howl recording to be the closest match, though quieter than what was heard.

The next morning the witness and companion were working in a clearing when they hid under a tree from a low loud plane. As the engine faded they stood up and two huge black hairy animals on all fours charged past very close and veered away. A small dog chased them while the witnesses yelled and banged shovels and fled, later concluding the animals had stalked them undetected through the thick brush.

The witness and companions cut through dense brambles off trail and broke into a large interwoven tunnel system running for thousands of meters. The tunnels opened into a large bowl-shaped crater whose floor was covered with thousands of old and fresh animal bones, including deer, bear and moose skulls with gnaw marks. Frightened and unable to tell which tunnel they entered by, they hacked straight out to the trail and returned to the cottage.

While moose hunting from an ATV in rainy daylight, the witness heard footsteps from a gully and saw a muscular hair-covered biped about 40 yards away. The figure grabbed a tree, ducked into dense brush, and a raspy cough followed by a deep sad howl was then heard from cover. The witness waited without further sighting and left the woods early, reporting fear.

The witness waited in a tree stand in a remote northern Ontario hunting area just before daybreak after a period of unnatural quiet and a feeling of being watched. He then heard very loud wood-on-wood knocks exchanged between two locations for about 10 minutes, with one source sounding closer over time. He left for the camper scared, and his two companions later said they had heard the sounds faintly from their distant stands.

The witness was staying at a cottage on a northern lake with family when loud organized whoops, grunts and knocking were heard at night from across the water. The next sunny morning while watching family in a canoe through binoculars the witness saw a large black-brown hairy creature sitting on a boulder across the lake. The creature slapped the rock with both hands, then stood upright and walked into the bush. A fallen tree previously seen across the lake had been moved to the beach, and similar loud vocalizations were heard on later nights.

Two companions hiking the lookout trail at Ouimet Canyon heard two or three loud howl-like screams from across the canyon late in the morning. They scanned the far side with binoculars but saw nothing, then heard a fainter similar sound at the second lookout. They finished the hike on alert and did not report it at the time, only later associating it with a Sasquatch call heard on television.
Moose hunter has morning encounter in hills of northern Ontario
While moose hunting alone, the witness slipped and fell in moss. On looking up he saw a black, large, upright creature about 10 yards away staring at him. When he raised his rifle it screamed, ran away upright at high speed in a manlike manner, and disappeared.

Later on the same canoe trip, the witness and the witness's brother camped on a mountain top. Late at night they heard very loud, deep, guttural screams from west of the ridge below that lasted 15 to 20 minutes. They stood by the fire looking toward the sound and could not identify it as any known animal.
Fisherman has morning sighting while boating up waterway near Sioux Lookout
Two people were boating in a creek on a rainy, windy morning when the witness saw a bulky black bipedal figure 30-40 yards away. The figure walked steadily toward the woods for 10-15 seconds, swatted a branch aside with its left arm, went up a hill and disappeared without looking toward the boat. The companion kept his head down against the weather and saw nothing.

The witness and the witness's brother were canoeing past a sloping shoreline when they noticed what they thought was a black bear drinking. It walked a few steps on all fours, then stood up like a man and walked into the woods without acknowledging them. They dismissed it at the time as a bear sighting and later discussed how human-like and upright it looked.

Two people in separate boats traveling along the shore of a remote lake reported seeing a gray shape that frightened them. The account was covered in a local newspaper in early July 1997 and was later summarized by an investigator who noted the witnesses were reluctant to speak with the press. The witness reports that co-workers found a single very large footprint in dry mud while working on a remote forest fire. The co-workers photographed the print with a tape measure for scale. The witness does not state that they personally saw the track.
