Sitting atop stored freight cars at night the witness and his friend threw rocks into the woods and heard one hit flesh with a deep thud. Rocks were then thrown back at them, sparking on the rails and clanging on the metal cars. After smelling a dead-animal stench and hearing more impacts they climbed over a barbed-wire fence to the road and took a long route home.

Walking the railroad tracks in daylight the witness glimpsed a bare foot and lower leg slip into the woods. Further down by a beaver dam he found a fresh large human-like footprint in mud with clear toes and no arch. He and his friend fetched a digital camera and photographed it with his size 13 shoe for scale.

Driving at night with brights on through an S-bend the witness saw a huge coppery-brown hairy figure on the road edge heading into the woods. He swerved to miss it, skidded and crashed into a landowner's driveway ditch, damaging the front end and requiring a tow. He later learned the landowner had livestock going missing and found shredded.

Walking home in the dark the witness smelled a terrible stink and heard slow footsteps approaching in the woods. When he jogged and looked back he saw a huge black mass at a tree archway with reflective glowing eyes. He sprinted home barefoot after losing his untied shoes and stopped visiting his friend after dark.

While walking alone down the dirt road the witness heard branches breaking then heavy elephant-like running steps behind him. Something kept pace with him in the trees with loud nasty huffing wheezing breathing. He ran home hyperventilating and his parents later found a pushed-over trail in the tall grass where something had run.

At his uncle's hillside house at night the adults saw something moving trees and went with guns to look. In a flashlight beam the witness saw a huge tall creature distinguished by massive upright pointed ears. His uncle fired a shotgun and it gave the same loud girthy scream heard on the Fourth of July, after which his father carried him running back to the house.

After a ground artillery shell exploded during family fireworks, a loud blood-curdling scream came from the woods. The family dog that had ignored fireworks went on high alert. The father ended the fireworks and sent everyone inside.

While bathing at night the witness heard his sister screaming and the family gathered in her bedroom. They saw a huge black standing figure by a tree 50 yards out that walked toward the woods. His father chased it in a pickup through tall grass and got the truck high-centered, returning terrified and unwilling to discuss details in front of the kids.

The next day the brothers drove to the far end of the park and split up to explore along a remote barbed wire fence near a ravine. One brother saw a large brownish arm pushing brush aside to look at him, then called the other brother over. Together they watched a large mass behind trees, heard two knocks returned after hitting a fence post and had a fist-sized rock thrown over their heads, then saw the figure with arms around two trees rocking before it crashed away through brush as the third brother approached yelling.

Three brothers were tent-camping alone in the state park during the off season. After midnight in rainy and windy conditions they heard heavy, lumbering footsteps circling their camp at a distance and breaking large branches for over an hour. The sounds paused after they turned off lights and later resumed, and mud prevented finding tracks the next morning.
