After returning to a dirt path, they heard loud banging like hitting trees that alternated back and forth between two directions. They listened briefly, could not explain the purpose, then walked back to the car and left.

Two companions sat in a parked car in Mohican State Park after jokingly making whoop calls, then heard two tree knocks from a steep wooded slope close by. A couple was driving on an old muddy road near a campground searching for a place to camp. The wife, riding as passenger, glimpsed from the corner of her eye a tall upright dark figure emerging from the tree line toward the road that then went back into the woods. The husband, who was driving, saw nothing. The glimpse lasted only a few seconds in daylight.

A couple driving home at night turned onto their rural street and saw a dark-haired ape-like animal in the headlights a few feet ahead. The animal avoided the lights and bounded quickly on its forelimbs in a gorilla-like manner across a neighbor's lawn before disappearing. Both adults observed the movement, though only the husband saw its fingered hands picking at the ground.
Family hears loud wood knocks at Deer Lakes outside Lake City
On June 12, 2021, the witness family stopped at Upper Mill Pond to fish and watched a moose and calves from their truck. They heard an estimated 8-10 wood knocks from the west tree line from at least three different positions while vehicles came and went. The witness considered people in the woods as possible but later interpreted the sounds as Bigfoot-related after hearing another knock that night at a stargazing stop.

In the late afternoon after rain, the witness was mowing behind the house when a large all-black figure appeared near a distant field corner. The witness moved to a wood pile for a better view and watched the figure travel northeast across a planted field along a deer trail before disappearing into tall weeds within about a minute and a half. After waiting several minutes without it reappearing, the witness finished mowing and later searched the area for tracks without success.

The witness woke early in the morning and went to the bathroom with windows open. She heard a loud, drawn-out deep vibrating howl coming from the mountains behind the house that she did not recognize as any known animal or human. Afterwards the area fell completely silent with no dogs or crickets, and she remained awake listening for more sounds.

The witness was riding as a passenger with a relative driving home when they crossed a bridge over a river. She spotted a reddish-brown fur-covered figure standing on the bank north of the bridge, a few feet from the water and out from the treeline. Both occupants saw it briefly, but she got the better look and noted visible arms with hands darker than the body fur. The estimated distance was 150 to 200 feet, and the spot was later under higher water.

The witness and their son watched the sunset at an overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway and then got into their car to leave as fog rolled in. As they started to back up, a very dark, man-like figure ran across the road into the woods. The witness described it as too large for a black bear and not an elk, said it disappeared from view, and said they were left intensely frightened.

The witness was sleeping in a travel trailer at a campground when an unknown sound woke him around 1 a.m. during quiet hours. After lying back down he sat up by an open window and heard two loud, distant howls that seemed to fill the forest valley and lacked clear direction. He felt the depth, breadth and penetrating quality of the sound could not have been produced by a human.

The witness was sleeping with a window open at home near Silver Lake when prolonged vocalizations were heard from the southeast side of the lake late at night. The sounds were described as partly primate-like and partly human-like and seemed like communication between individuals. The witness's dog reacted fearfully, and no visual contact was reported.

Around midnight the witness was walking out of a gym toward her vehicle near a treeline when she heard a twig snap. She looked up to see a tall gray-furred figure about 30 yards away under parking lot lighting turning to run back into the woods with swinging arms. The figure quickly disappeared behind the building, and the witness left the area and called relatives for a ride while shaken.

The witness and her husband stayed at a rental cabin near Leavenworth. Over two nights they heard single loud wood knocks in the evening, including knocks heard from the hot tub area and near their car. Later at night rocks struck the exterior bedroom walls, and the next morning the witness found two rocks lying on the soil. No animal or person was seen causing the sounds.

The witness was riding a motorcycle north in the morning when a brown figure crossed the road from east to west. The figure moved quickly in a smooth bipedal walk, covering the road in three or four long strides, unlike a bounding deer. After riding through the crossing location, the witness smelled a light skunky body odor lingering for several yards.

A witness preparing breakfast saw movement outside the kitchen window and watched a tall, slim, dark bipedal figure about 50 ft away walk from trees toward a wooded area. A young relative watching from a sliding glass door also saw the figure and called out. The figure then left their line of sight.
