The witness was climbing a steep ridge before dawn with hunting gear when his light revealed three or four sets of yellow eyes about 60 yards ahead. One set rose vertically and maintained eye contact as the group moved off across a hollow without showing deer traits like a white tail or snort. Shortly after, a heavy object landed near him, which he later interpreted as thrown, followed by guttural vocalizations unlike known wildlife and a skunky odor at a suspected bedding area.

They watched two large greyish furry figures, one pounding and shaking a thin tree and the other digging in snow, while noticing a foul odor. The creatures vocalized and ran off when they noticed the witnesses, who briefly tried to follow before giving up.

The witness was walking a dog outside in the early morning when coyotes were heard howling at a distance. Shortly after the coyotes stopped, a loud wailing sound began coming from nearby woods and continued until about 5:30 AM. The witness described the sound as non-human, unrecognized, chilling and depressing, and reported no visual of its source.

Two teenage hunters were in an enclosed ground-level deer stand when they noticed something approaching wild hogs. They watched for about 10 minutes as it moved crouched, scratched its head and made deer-like blowing sounds, then stood upright after hearing a shotgun clink, causing the hogs to flee. The witnesses fled on a 4-wheeler and one looked back to see it standing by a tree watching them leave.

On the night of October 28, 2000 the witness was hosting an adult-only backyard barbecue party with about a dozen guests. Around 10 p.m. the group heard loud unidentified sounds from the woods near the back of the property and heard heavy footsteps breaking branches that sounded bipedal. Two men entered the woods with a flashlight but the source stayed distant and was never seen, and no tracks were found in deep oak leaves.

During the night while trying to sleep, the witness heard a loud yelling sound from the ridge to the north, then heard it again several minutes later. The witness stopped with a child by Sunset Crater to look at lava formations while driving from Phoenix to Utah. From the pine-covered slope above them they repeatedly heard loud, breathy huffing. They saw nothing because trees blocked the view, and video recorded at the time did not capture the sound. They left uneasy without identifying the source.

The witness was standing on a deck overlooking a reservoir in the morning when an extended human-like animal call was heard from a nearby forested area. The sound lasted several minutes and was described as spine-tingling, lost-sounding, and unlike anything heard during extensive hiking and camping experience. No animal was seen.

The couple reported hearing a very loud animal-like vocalization for about 20 minutes at night from their cabin. A few days later they found two large footprints in a wash near a marshy area a couple hundred feet from the cabin. They photographed the prints and estimated the first water-filled track at 16 to 18 inches long.

The witness and her husband were camping in a dispersed site when they heard a prolonged strange vocalization that moved along a rocky creek bed from one side of camp to the other over several hours. Their dogs acted frightened, trying to get into the tent rather than barking. The witness compared the sound to a recorded scream from a nearby county and could not identify it as a known animal.

The witness was camped alone in a remote meadow with pack goats and dogs while tending a sick animal. At dusk the animals became alarmed and the witness exited a tent to see a tall erect chestnut-furred figure about 12 feet away staring directly. After a mutual stare the figure made a low rumble, a second figure was glimpsed behind it, and both left quickly with ground vibrations felt. The witness remained overnight without further incident and left the next morning.

The witness and their then-husband were hiking mid-trail in dense forest when they heard a loud, deep repetitive call from the hillside above. The sound started faintly to their left, grew louder as it passed above them, then faded, moving faster than a person could travel. They could see nothing through the dense forest.

They heard loud deep roaring, scream-like and growl-like vocalizations approaching from across the creek, along with large branches breaking, and believed something was circling them. After the sounds stopped they felt watched, fled down the trail, and heard a large animal tracking them along the creek.

The witness and a companion were fishing at Spring Lake in the evening. From across the road they heard loud howling with grunting and angry sounds while brush was being thrashed. They looked toward the sounds for some time but saw nothing, then left in their truck past the area. They later drove nearby forest roads searching for tracks or a sighting but found nothing further.

They heard a very loud deep roaring and screaming vocalization approaching from across the creek, repeated several times, with breaking branches as it circled and then followed them as they fled. Frightened, they gathered their belongings and ran back down the trail while the animal tracked them from alongside the creek.

While sitting outside, the witness heard movement in the woods and heavy grunt-like vocalizations, initially considering coyotes or a bear. Feeling unnerved, the witness left and returned later, and the residents jokingly attributed the sounds to a local Bigfoot and mentioned their own prior unexplained experiences.

The family continued uphill without further sound or sighting and later reported the encounter to park staff.

The witness and a companion had made camp for the night off a trail. While standing on the trail smoking, the witness saw a large dark upright form that was first mistaken for a person on a bicycle. After calling to the companion and looking back, the witness saw it move quickly into the woods on two legs. No trace was found the next day.

Five people sleeping in an RV in a campground awoke when the dog barked and saw a large hairy figure about 10 feet away. The figure looked toward the RV then left with a human-like jog in long strides amid grunting sounds and a strong odor. The next morning the group found huge footprints outside.
