The companion asked if it was a bear, but the witness rejected that because of its roughly eight-foot height and fast running on two legs.

A dark hairy figure reportedly ran upright from behind a tree very fast, making a high-pitched noise with loud thumping footsteps. The guest and three companions visited the quarry caretaker and walked toward the quarry pond. After smelling a musky odor and finding a large nesting area, they saw a female creature sitting by a berry bush that stood and quickly left into the woods. They tracked snapping sounds and heavy breathing with amplified equipment for over an hour until the sounds stopped near a clear-cut.

He turned and saw a tall black figure walking north along the far fence, stopping twice to look toward him before moving on. His brother arrived about 30 minutes later from a different direction, ruling out the brother as the figure.
