The figure, estimated at 6 to 6.5 feet tall, stood motionless with arms raised to shoulder height and stared at the car for a few seconds as the witness passed within about 15-20 feet. The witness described an angry humanlike face without a bear-like muzzle and felt frightened.

The witness was squirrel hunting and scouting for deer signs from the top of a small hill when they saw a large dark bipedal creature about 50 yards below following a fence row. They watched it for about 8-10 seconds before it disappeared. The witness estimated it was at least 6 to 7 feet tall, did not follow it out of fear, and a later return found no traces or tracks because the ground was very hard.
Memory told of a nighttime highway crossing near Stewardson
The witness and a companion were driving at night when a tall greyish bipedal figure ran from one cornfield across the highway into another cornfield about 30 yards ahead of them. It crossed ditches and the road in a few strides with its arms swinging at its sides. They slowed but could see little in the dark, and a next-day search found no sign because the corn on both sides had been harvested that morning.

The witness was looking for rocks in a forested area in the early morning and returned to the parked car to find the windshield wipers flipped outward. The witness then noticed a dark crouched mass at the tree line first taken for a bear. After getting into the car and slamming the door, the witness saw the figure stand about 7-8 feet tall and run away over a rock mound, then drove away.

They lost sight of it when caribou entered the area and it moved into heavy brush. After the hunt, a bush pilot suggested the description matched the Iliamna region's 'Hairy Man' known to local native people.
