At dawn the witness was dressing in an upstairs bedroom before fishing when he saw a large hairy figure trotting through the edge of the woods toward a cabin and across an earthen dam between ponds. The figure moved with a hunched posture for several seconds before disappearing. The witness went downstairs to check with a companion, who had been elsewhere by a boat and had not seen it.

The witness avoided looking directly, released the dogs, and walked away; one dog halted and cowered while the figure stared without moving or making sound, eventually letting them leave.

In March 2001 at about 4:30 a.m., the witness was driving home from work on back dirt roads when a tall bipedal figure crossed in front of the headlights in two to three strides. The figure stepped over a fence into a field and disappeared from view. It was described as 6-7 feet tall with long arms and long grayish hair, possibly dust-coated, moving in a lumbering fast walk.

The animal was on all fours with its front raised, paused to look at the witness for a few seconds, then ran away quadrupedally without ever standing. The witness described it as dark brown, short-haired and ape-like, estimating about two and a half to three feet tall on all fours.

The animal looked up at them, then ran directly toward them at high speed, appearing to float with its hair flowing, before veering into woods to the north. The witness and a friend walked toward a creek in a park and the witness climbed onto a fallen pine to balance. A large dark mass rose from dense cover and stepped into view as a tall, broad, hair-covered biped. It walked away without looking at them while its heavy steps thudded, then disappeared into the woods.

The witness, a tour guide, was waiting at the mountain-top cavern entrance with two tourists for the return bus on a cloudy day. They heard repeated thumping and noticed treetops moving along a ravine about 200 yards away, then briefly watched a huge bipedal figure with swinging arms run downhill toward the lake and disappear while footfalls remained audible. The witness radioed for the bus and left with the group, later quitting the job to avoid being alone on the mountain.

Two companions shoveling snow noticed barefoot-like prints and followed them into the woods. They watched two large greyish furry figures, one pounding and shaking a thin tree and the other digging in snow, while noticing a foul odor. The creatures vocalized and ran off when they noticed the witnesses, who briefly tried to follow before giving up.

On Christmas Eve 2000 two people driving toward Winslow on Highway 87 passed a tall hairy figure beside the road near Jacks Canyon. The figure was seen in the headlights from about fifteen feet away and covered its face against the glare. The driver turned around to look again, but the figure had left at high speed into a nearby canyon, leaving long barefoot tracks in snow.

Two teenage hunters were in an enclosed ground-level deer stand when they noticed something approaching wild hogs. They watched for about 10 minutes as it moved crouched, scratched its head and made deer-like blowing sounds, then stood upright after hearing a shotgun clink, causing the hogs to flee. The witnesses fled on a 4-wheeler and one looked back to see it standing by a tree watching them leave.

He then saw a tall, solid-white figure on two legs run across the trail about 40 yards away, moving very fast and quietly. He searched for tracks but found none because of leaf cover, then left feeling unnerved.

Late at night the witness and three companions were shining for deer from a truck when they spotted a large crouched figure with amber eyes in a field. The figure stood up and ran diagonally toward the truck as they drove away. It kept pace to within about ten feet while the truck reached at least 30 mph, then disappeared into the tree line.

While lying on a couch at night watching a deer through a window gap, the witness saw the deer flee from a large bulky animal running on all fours. The deer stopped under bright lights at a power plant area which the pursuer would not enter. The animal then stood upright and walked on two legs across the highway and over a guardrail up a hill.
