Soon after the first incident, while riding horseback in sparse pasture, the diarist found two 4-5 foot tall owl-like beings with large eyes and sockets. They did not flee; they stepped toward him as he stepped, stared, and seemed to look at each other as if communicating. He circled them on horseback, tried shouting and waving, then rode home for a .22 to shoot around them, but they were gone on return.

At age 12 the witness was bush-hogging the family's bottom pasture on a large tractor and stopped at the hilltop gate to move cattle and drop a salt block. He walked past what he first took for a Brahma bull, then realized it was a very tall naked hairy biped with an old-man face, foul odor, and heavy footsteps. The being vocalized, stared, then ran away extremely fast, after which the witness drove home and told his grandmother, who called it a wild man and advised leaving it alone.

Around 3:30 a.m. a driver with anatomy experience saw a hairy body with arms, legs, fingers and very large feet lying beside Interstate 70 with blood and tissue in the lane. Unable to stop in traffic, he planned to photograph it after work, but on return the scene was completely sanitized with no blood or remains.

They returned after dark and the father dismissed their account.

Driving back from Michigan on the Mountain Parkway near Prestonsburg in fog, the tired witness saw a monkey-like creature run across the road on all fours at an angle behind the guardrail. Its head topped the guardrail by a few inches, looked grayish to white, and seemed to blend with the fog.

The witness and his son hiked in the Paradise area, noticed a bad smell, unusual tracks, and dark woods, then showed track photos to rangers who stopped talking. Later on a lower trail they saw a dark upright figure standing by a tree about 100 meters away. They observed it through a monocular, saw it move, left uneasy, and returned to find it gone.

In the spotlight two upright creatures were seen on the beach, one larger in the grass and one smaller below, which crouched and covered their faces. Rifles were aimed but not fired, and the figures later left into the bush, with further eye-shine, scenting sounds, and a tree bent as one departed.

The larger disappeared into thick pines while the smaller repeatedly tried to run ahead and recross in front of the truck. The driver blocked it several times under headlights and spotlights until it left into the woods.

A black upright figure ran incredibly fast across the woods without crashing sounds and stopped behind a distant tree. It stepped out, stared directly at the witness, did not wave back, then stepped back behind the tree and was gone when the witness walked up.

Over months he heard creatures around the cabin, heard Jabba-like laughing, saw them while fishing and looking in windows, smelled sulfur, and saw one vanish and reappear. After a night of multiple individuals banging on the walls and vocalizing, he packed up and never returned.
