The witness, then about seven, was playing outside with her twin sister and two large dogs on a gravel road. The dogs began barking aggressively, and the witness saw a large hair-covered creature step from the woods and walk across the road about 200 feet away. It paused, turned its whole torso toward the children, then continued into the tree line. The frightened children ran to a neighbor's house, and the witness's mother later suggested it was a Bigfoot, which the witness confirmed from a magazine photo weeks later.

While fishing from a boat near shore, the witness smelled a strong musky odor for several minutes, then spotted a tall hair-covered figure partly hidden behind a short tree at the treeline. The figure remained still for a couple minutes, then stood, stepped into the open to look at the boat, and walked slowly uphill into denser forest.
