Three elk hunters walking back toward camp heard a loud crash and chased what they assumed was a bull elk to the rim of a deep, steep-sided canyon. From across the canyon the reporter watched through a rifle scope as a tall, black-haired biped ran up the opposite slope on two feet and briefly turned to show its face in profile before entering the trees. The group chose not to pursue closely, later backtracked the trail toward the highway, and examined broken vegetation and footprints the following day.

In October 1970, a teenager watching television indoors glanced toward a large picture window and reported a tall grey hair-covered figure standing very close outside staring in. A couple driving west over Skyline Drive in the morning saw a large hairy biped running toward the road. The driver slowed as the creature crossed about 10 feet in front of the car, continued past the car, then went up a steep embankment into dense foliage and out of sight. The witnesses said it ran on two legs the entire time, never slowed, and ignored them.

Two witnesses driving west on Highway 41 between Three Lakes and Tioga around sunset stopped to watch a tall white-furred biped standing on a hilltop south of the road. They said they first mistook it for a tall tree stump, then watched it walk downhill in a few steps, take a long step across a roadside ditch, and stop in the middle of the road to turn and look at their truck as they drove away. The figure was described as covered in long dark brown hair with a lighter patch on the chest and red eyes.

On a moonlit night in summer 1970, the witness was on a road by a cornfield with a companion when a large brownish creature was heard and then seen running across the road, down a ditch, over a fence and into the cornfield. The creature had a foul smell. The witness returned the next day and found large smudged footprints in the road and cornfield.
