Five boys were camping overnight in a repaired old logging cabin in the woods. During the night they were awakened by huffing, shuffling and prying sounds as something circled and probed the cabin walls. When the door was opened they saw only dark hairy legs in the darkness, a companion fired a rifle, and the creature screamed and fled with heavy thuds, leaving torn ground and indentations.

During summer 1965 the witness was exploring woods near military housing when he found very large barefoot prints in red clay leading into the trees. While on a trail he heard heavy bipedal footsteps that appeared to follow him, stopping when he stopped and rushing toward him, causing him to flee to the housing area. He returned with a friend and both heard the same following footsteps rush toward them before fleeing, with the friend reporting an indistinct large movement in the brush.

The witness, deer hunting at dawn from a ground position below a relative, watched a tall hair-covered biped step into a fire lane, pause and look toward the witness after hearing the witness speak, then cross and wait in brush before leaving downhill. The witness later found large barefoot-like tracks and noticed a strong foul odor at the crossing site. The witness did not shoot and initially told no one.

In 1963 the witness hiked with family members to Teddy Lakes to fish. While rowing around an island they heard splashing and then found a line of very large, deep, human-like footprints in shallow mud where an animal had exited the water. Neither the witness, then a youth experienced with tracks, nor his expert-tracker grandfather could identify the maker, and the trail was lost in forest litter.

The witness hiked alone in heavy snow above the timber line to a summit and then turned back along the same trail. On the descent the witness found very large bear-like tracks that appeared to have followed the ascent route and then joined the witness's trail. Frightened by the thought of being followed in winter conditions, the witness ran down the mountain and returned home without reporting the incident at the time.

The witness was playing in the front yard of a farm in the afternoon and saw a very tall, long-haired figure walking along the road and appearing to search the ditches. The witness screamed, and the mother and older sister came out and also saw it before driving toward it for a closer look. The figure ran under a bridge and into the woods and was lost from sight. The next day, large footprints were found in the road.

The witness had recently moved into a farmhouse and was on the front porch in the morning with relatives when a large hair-covered creature emerged from a nearby barn. The creature stepped over a hog-pen fence and walked away to the west. Later that day the witness found large five-toed footprints near the barn, and the household heard loud banging and howling sounds around the property through the following winter and spring without seeing the creature again.

At about age 11, the witness was walking alone to a restaurant hangout around midday in winter when he noticed very large bare footprints with distinct toes in the snow of a vacant field. The prints formed a long stride and ran southwest across the entire field. He did not see the maker and did not report it at the time because of his young age.

The witness, then a teenager, was riding with his brother and a friend in an old pickup checking irrigation on his father's walnut ranch when they spotted a tall hairy biped moving through the orchard. They chased it by farm roads as it ran uphill diagonally across a 40-acre block, stopped to watch it pass close by, then followed it across more blocks until it crossed a road and disappeared into dense brush on a neighboring property. Afterwards they inspected its long strides in wet ground and decided not to tell his father for fear of losing their irrigation job.

The witnesses found a line of very large barefoot human-like tracks in snow on their farm leading into a wooded hollow and thickets, which they did not follow. The tracks were described as about 13 inches long with five toes, no claws, and a 4.5 to 5 foot stride, unlike bear tracks. A game warden viewed the tracks the next day and could not identify their source.

The witness heard whistling and chomping sounds near a creek and looked toward them. A very muscular, hairy, man-like creature was present for about two minutes before walking into the treeline at the creek edge. The witness later returned to the area and found footprints by the creek.

Next morning with his friend [name withheld] he found a huge bare footprint in wet mud under the sapling, estimated 8.5-9 feet tall using [name withheld]'s height, and nearby found a stick-bed with a strong repulsive odor.

Other workers threw hand axes and chased it with rifles and shotguns, firing many shots without killing it, after which sentries were posted day and night.
