The witness and a relative were wading in a river fishing near dusk when a very loud, prolonged guttural sound filled the valley from woods ahead. Everything else went quiet and both froze before slowly moving back to their vehicle. Afterwards they could not find any similar sound online and have not returned to the location.

In the early morning after two of them got up unable to sleep, they heard grunting nearby followed by a very loud scream and sounds of something running through the woods breaking branches. They then heard whooping sounds off and on for about two hours and reported that the whoops answered when they imitated them. They also reported a foul garbage-like odor.

After watching briefly, the figure turned toward the witness, screamed for an extended period, and ran on two legs into the woods with visible arm swing while crashing through brush. Two people hunting deer near a creek crossing watched a shape first mistaken for a stump move, crouch, stand upright and stretch. The witness observed through a rifle scope an apelike face and hair-covered body moving along the creek for about ten minutes. As they backed away, a growl and a single loud scream were heard from its direction before it ran and leapt across the creek, after which the pair left.

A shadow paced past the front window, then the creature screamed and pounded the house until its arm broke through the glass. The father ran out with a shotgun, argued and exchanged cries with it for nearly half an hour, then fired. The father later had the grandfather bring a truck, removed the body, and years later said he shot it in the face three times.

The witness heard a baby-like crying sound near his property, then about ten minutes later a very loud, long, deep roar from a mountain about half a mile away. Shortly after, an answering roar came from the top of his own mountain behind him. The two roars went back and forth, shaking his RV, and he went inside with his dog.
