The witness and three relatives were hog hunting at night from two positions separated by several hundred yards. Around midnight they heard bipedal footsteps, grunting, whistling, whoops and reciprocal tree knocks, smelled a strong foul odor, and had small sticks thrown at their position. After a shot was fired into the ground, heavy running was heard moving toward the second position where glowing eyes were seen, and the group left around 2 a.m.

The animal stood upright, revealing a very tall, broad, dark-brown hairy human-like form, and the driver got out and shouted at it. Later that evening the party sat in the area until dark and reported receiving return wood knocks from three directions and hearing unexplained noises. They then reported hearing objects thrown through the woods toward them, with one small object striking a companion, prompting them to leave.

After wildlife fell silent around 7 a.m., prolonged branch breaking and pounding on trees was heard for hours, a frightened hog fled the woods, a branch struck the blind, and deep growls were heard. On the second morning approach, something was heard walking alongside in the brush and a close growl was heard near the stand before the noises resumed at daybreak. Nothing was ever seen and no tracks were found.

He knelt and put his shotgun in its midsection but did not fire when it backed off, then it screamed, circled the camp throwing trees, iron-ore rocks and dirt while they kept a bonfire burning until early morning.

After heavy rain forced them out, they visited another nighttime area near cattle pasture where animals were said to feed. As they approached closely they noticed a strong odor and had sticks thrown toward them, though the animals remained unseen.
