Brush began shaking violently and with flashlights they saw broad shoulders moving through vegetation, then noticed something running down a hill and a large fallen tree that had been moved from its prior position. As they left the valley they again heard movement and saw a crouched figure shimmying through thick brush before fleeing the area frightened.

The next morning a canoe dock where the scuffle was heard was seen destroyed, and the dog was later found alive but limping.

The next morning she and a relative found flattened grass, clearings, and tracks leading into the woods but were too frightened to follow them.

The child chased the dog around the house out of sight, then screamed and ran back saying a monkey-like creature growled and ran into the woods, later adding there was a little one with its mother. The main witness waited ahead with two younger companions and reported seeing a tall hairy biped peeking from behind a tree and then from behind a rock. The three companions ran back to their cabin and later said all three had seen the figure.

The witness and his teenage son rowed to an isolated wooded shore at night to set off fireworks while family watched from across the water. The witness heard loud huffing and grunting, crashing through brush, and smelled strong body odor approaching in the dense woods. He briefly saw a very large, wide, shaggy human-like silhouette between trees in his flashlight beam. He took his son and paddled away quickly, leaving chairs and fireworks equipment behind.

He heard heavy bipedal footsteps, loud screams and howls that approached rather than retreated, and fired shots into the ground. He later heard repeating groups of three heavy knocks and was shadowed along the fence for over an hour without ever seeing the source, leaving him and the dogs shaken.

The witness was patrolling near wooded wetlands late in the morning and noticed unusual limb arches, teepee-like and X formations near the road.
