The witness was fishing alone late at night from a reservoir dam when she heard footsteps on a nearby dirt road. She shone a flashlight toward the sound and saw a tall, broad, hairy bipedal creature whose eyes reflected greenish-yellow. The creature glanced toward the light once, kept walking past without approaching, and disappeared into nearby woods, after which the witness packed up and drove away.

A counselor later told them it was a bear, which the witness doubted because it walked on two legs and was in a swamp.

As they drove away, one rider looked back and saw a very large, wide, dark hairy figure leap onto the road, land on all fours, then stand erect and grunt. The creature followed briefly then moved away making moaning sounds, and the witness saw a very large four-toed footprint while leaving.

As a teenager living on his mother's horse farm, the guest repeatedly heard loud dawn screams and movement near the trash burn pit. One snowy night the household arrived to find the porch light out and heard a whimpering cry and heavy bipedal steps moving around the house and into the woods, followed by a loud hiss that shook the horse barn where a large dog was chained. The next morning the family found large barefoot-like tracks in snow leading from the driveway around the house and over a fence, which they followed for about half a mile and photographed beside a size 14 shoe.
