They noticed blinking eye-like lights high off the ground, smelled a musky odor, and made out a large bulky dark shape in weak flashlight light before running to the house. A short time later the witness returned with a brighter light and companions, saw the blinking eyes again in woods beside the house, then heard movement and a throaty howl as it left.

The creature had broad shoulders, long arms held out with bent elbows and hanging hair, a huge flat face, and a slight sulfurous odor was noted. The witness returned about ten days later and found scuff marks on the bank.

Late on Thanksgiving night in 2003, the witness was driving home on Route 50 near Burlington after dropping off a friend. She braked to avoid a large black animal crossing the road on all fours.
