Late at night someone tapped loudly on the trailer window, and when the grandfather came out with a gun and lights on, he saw a very large dark figure run off. The family interpreted it as a prowler, while the host noted witnesses often mistake a conical head for a hood.

While the guest's parent was driving a load south, another driver behind reported a hairy biped running behind the parent's truck and crossing the interstate. The other driver radioed northbound traffic about the animal. The two drivers later met at an exit where the reporting driver appeared shaken and insisted it was not a bear.
