The guest's three uncles were camped for an extended summer stay in the pine area. Over three nights they heard dropping sounds and suspected rocks being thrown. One night something ran through camp kicking over the fire, after which they saw moving eyeshine in flashlight beams, rebuilt the fire, stayed up, and left the next day.

The same expedition member had previously watched for creatures near where he lived. He hid in a ghillie suit beside a game trail all day until dusk, when one came up the trail. It stopped as if it smelled something wrong, then turned and ran back the way it came.
