Newspaper account of an encounter with an unknown creature near Salt Creek
A motorcyclist turning onto Fairfield Street claimed a Bigfoot-like creature ran in front of him and caused him to fall. The creature then continued south toward Salt Creek while emitting a terrible smell. The frightened rider got up and left. A nearby resident recalling the story years later said it was in the local newspaper the next day.

The witness's brother was driving a tractor home late at night when he noticed two large hair-covered figures walking parallel to the road along a fence line. He described the taller one as about seven to eight feet tall, bulky with long swinging arms, and watched them continue along the timber. The account was relayed secondhand by the reporter along with other nearby reports from the same period.

The reporter's father was squirrel hunting in deep cover near Patoka Lake when he noticed what looked like legs across a slough by a tree. The figure left on two feet and headed toward the lake after appearing to notice it was observed. The father hurried out and said nothing until he was miles away, then advised returning only with a larger-caliber rifle.
Movement only near Miami, Florida (1978)
A young pilot with two passengers flew a small Cessna from the Miami area toward the Bahamas and entered a tunnel-like cloud. The plane emerged over Cuba, landed on a road, took off again, and later crash-landed farther in the Bahamas. The pilot died but the two passengers survived to describe the tunnel and fog.

The witness's father and grandfather were out poaching deer at night. They lit something with a spotlight that went into the brush. Both agreed it was standing upright and walking on two legs, and discussed it in shock back in the kitchen.
Tracks near Benzie County (1978)
The mother found a very large footprint with clear definition at the corner of the house. She tried to preserve it and photographed it with a tape measure for scale, showing it dwarfed a human foot and sank into the ground. After this she became convinced something large was around.
Unidentified sound in Michigan (1978)
The grandfather drove in at dusk to find pigs raising a disturbance and something large scattering through the woods. He asked the witness's father for a gun and they found leaves torn up and limbs broken where it had plowed through. The grandfather was badly rattled and thereafter always carried a rifle there.
Scream near Benzie County (1978)
Neighbors a short distance up the creek called the witness's father around 1 or 2 in the morning. They reported screaming and noise with dogs and children frightened. The father loaded guns and drove down, but the witness did not recall what happened there.
Odor in Michigan (1977)
The guest relayed his father's account of a night when the family was home while the grandfather was away hauling freight. After a foul odor and prolonged barking by the guard dog, a long loud vocalization was heard, the dog was apparently dragged from under the chicken-coop camper, and three household members separately reported red eyes staring through windows. By morning the dog was dead and mutilated, all chickens were gone with feathers and footprints scattered, and the coop hatch had been opened from underneath.
Witness noticed creature was human shaped.
The witness was driving to work on a county road when he noticed a large dark figure in an empty hayfield. On approaching closer, the figure looked human-shaped, very tall, and covered in black hair. The creature noticed the vehicle and moved quickly toward cover at a nearby creek. The witness later returned to the site with a relative to look for traces but found nothing.
Movement only near Maryville, Missouri (1976)
The witness's father, a police officer, with other officers chased lights out of town in police cars in 1976. The lights came close to the cars, sped by fast, split off other lights, then took off very fast.
Partial sighting in Nebraska (1976)
A girl camper ran to the boys' side overnight saying she saw an ugly black face peering in the bathroom window. The children first thought it was a joke but she appeared terrified. The next day the group found large muddy handprints with an oddly offset thumb on the outside wall under a high small window.
Creature seen in the woods by hunter
While deer hunting in the morning, the witness and a companion heard loud noise from a wooded gully and then met an elderly hunter climbing out. The elderly hunter appeared pale and frightened and told them he had just seen a huge bigfoot at the bottom and had dropped his rifle while fleeing. The witness and companion later recovered the abandoned scoped rifle, but the elderly hunter kept walking away and left.
Trapper recalls large footprints he found while trapping near Pinckneyville
In the late 1970s in December, the witness's friend found a short line of very large barefoot humanlike tracks in mud along a strip-mine pond while running traps. The prints showed five toes and a stride the finder said was too great for him to match. The account was relayed by the reporter and later clarified when an investigator spoke directly with the track finder.

Two witnesses were paddling a rowboat along a brushy creek at night to check limb lines. They heard something moving with them in the dense brush along the bank. A large rock was thrown downward and landed in the water in front of their boat, after which they left the area.
Late evening sighting north of Bear Valley
The witness's grandfather was collecting ore samples at night when he heard heavy human-like footsteps moving around him in the snow. He then saw a large dark shape about 40 feet away. Frightened, he ran to his three-wheeler and fired a shot toward where the shape had been after it disappeared.
Two separate sighting reports of a creature
The writer's brother was driving alone late at night on Skyball Mountain when he smelled a strong odor. He saw a large dark hair-covered figure in tall weeds beside the road that stepped onto the road and stared at him while he stopped and watched for a minute or more. The figure then walked into the woods on the other side of the road and he drove home.
Sasquatch sighting in Kentucky (1975)
The guest's mother arrived at his grandmother's farm at night and was hurried inside after being told a tall hairy creature was nearby. Family members then used a spotlight to show her a figure stepping out of the light along the tree line. Over the following years the family reported repeated nighttime visits marked by forest silence, strong odor, screams and chatter, plus damage to orchard trees and garden crops.

The guest recounts that his mother was outside at the family farmhouse when she saw a creature run and jump over a fence. He says she saw the same creature again when she came out onto the front porch. The sightings occurred early in a prolonged period of disturbances at the property.
Sasquatch sighting in Arkansas (1975)
When the guest grew up in rural northeast Louisiana, his uncle and cousins on an Arkansas cabin camping trip saw what looked like a person peeking in a window. Two of them grabbed guns, chased it, and failed to catch it. They concluded it was Bigfoot because of its speed and its breaking of limbs and logs no human could break.
