Odor
The guest relays a story about a bushman who was in a forest by a salmon stream. The party smelled strong licorice, found fresh little footprints in sand with water still flowing in, and heard chattering and brush rustling without seeing anything.
Howl
To address suspected coyotes, four large hound dogs were released on the property. They were heard howling, then yips and a huge roar, then silence. The next morning all four dead dogs were found piled in the middle of the property road, some mutilated.
Property disturbance
The man who previously owned the property said wounded deer that ran into a marked area vanished without a blood trail. Dogs sent into that area, including collared tracking dogs, also vanished. The collars would stop suddenly and neither collar nor dog was recovered.

After creatures tore open the back of a sheep barn and killed many sheep, the farmer waited inside with a shotgun. The witness heard two shots and a scream at night. Responders later found only the smashed gun and part of a bloody shirt, and the man was never found.

As a boy the grandfather heard his pet jenny in distress in the back field. He crested a hill and saw a large hairy creature holding the animal with its neck twisted. The creature threw the heavy animal over its shoulder and walked toward the woods.

The guest's son and daughter-in-law reported hearing loud screaming outside their house in the woods through the night. The daughter-in-law heard it all night while the son did not wake until morning. When the son went to the car in the morning the screaming resumed, he retrieved a firearm, noted the dog hiding, and stayed home from work.

Six young men walking a California highway were watched from a hillside by a coyote-like upright creature called King of the Coyotes. It closed in growling and nearly ran them down until they were picked up by a vehicle.

A patrol officer in Kentucky almost hit a big wolf-like thing on two legs that stepped in front of his car. It stopped, stared him down and growled rather than fleeing like a normal animal, then eventually left.

A man shot at what he thought was a very large coyote and missed above its head. It stood about six and a half to seven feet tall, stared at him, and walked away on two legs into the woods. It then began coming around his nearby grandparents property up to his window, so he stayed armed.

A police officer hunting from a tree stand in East Texas saw two large wolf-like canines walking side by side upright like men. He heard a low rumbling sound he took for communication between them. After they left he climbed down, returned to his car, and has not hunted since.

Two border patrol agents in Southern California almost hit a huge wolf-like animal that then stood and looked at them. On a night follow-up on foot near Otay Mountain they encountered it with red glowing eyes like light bulbs. The junior partner quit the next day.
