Near the parking area they heard a deep growl unlike any known animal that terrified them but they did not run, and one later called the guest to report it.

A detective friend investigated an attempted break-in at an old cabin north of the witness's jurisdiction. Officers found large claw marks seven to eight feet high on exterior walls and window frames and very large canine-like foot impressions around the building. No suspect or animal was seen, and the cause was left unidentified.
