While driving up the mountain highway toward the trailhead, the guest's girlfriend reported seeing a tall, dark, hair-covered figure standing upright near the base of the mountain and watching the road. The guest was focused on the narrow road and did not see it himself. They discussed the sighting briefly but could not stop due to traffic.

Two teenage boys were playing on the far bank of a lake inlet in the evening when one noticed a large hairy figure watching from the wooded slope about 30 feet away. In 2012 the witness took his son to Myakka State Park. They found a 14 to 14.5-inch track off the main trail, followed back-and-forth walking in palmettos, and the son then saw a very tall creature for four to six seconds and drew it. Park staff directed them to a biologist who dismissed it without viewing the drawing.

The witness became separated from relatives while out in forest near a lake in spring. The witness stopped at a trail entrance and watched a tall dark manlike creature scrape bark with its palms and pound a tree trunk with a fist. The creature paused and turned to look at the witness. The frightened witness cried and left the area after viewing lasting a couple minutes.

The main witness was driving a feed truck north on Highway 17 when he rounded a curve and saw a tall dark figure standing in the roadway ahead. The figure was looking away from the road, and after the driver briefly looked away it had disappeared. The driver's relative later met him at the location and found matted grass near a fence and agitated cattle but no clear footprints.
