A local friend who swam in the turnaround where alligators would not go searched underwater and found an opening. He swam about 100 feet into a cavern, surfaced under the area used for bikes and horses, and encountered an overpowering stench that burned his eyes and made breathing hard. He believed he had found the creature's lair and asked the witness to keep it secret.
