Two weeks after being shot, the creature returned to the farm while wood was being chopped by lantern light. It attacked the boy who had shot it, knocking him down and breaking his arm before the father drove it away. The boy was left unconscious but expected to recover, and hunters then scoured the area.

It freed itself, climbed a tree with cat-like agility, then later came down and fought the two watchers, badly biting and scratching one and tearing clothing before disappearing.
