The witness was waiting just inside a woodline while squirrel hunting when heavy walking approached. A tall white-covered creature with dark skin on the face and hands stood nearby with a hand on a tree and was observed for about 30 seconds. After a brief stare, the witness ran through an open field back to the house.

Two men checking trap lines on a quiet afternoon in early September 1998 encountered a hair-covered creature at about 100 feet. The creature watched them briefly before running uphill into the forest. A group gathered on a front porch at night heard noises near an old chicken coop and saw two pairs of yellow eyes that appeared to be two feline-like animals in the headlights. A large hairy biped then stepped in front of the animals and lurched toward a car, prompting the group to flee inside and call deputies. The biped later stood outside a lit kitchen window for several minutes while occupants held firearms but did not shoot, then left before deputies arrived, leaving a strong odor.

Around 3:30 a.m. a driver with anatomy experience saw a hairy body with arms, legs, fingers and very large feet lying beside Interstate 70 with blood and tissue in the lane. An avid outdoorsman fishing at night with his wife heard screams from the back end of a lake in Jackson County. He abandoned tackle, rods, chairs, lanterns and a grill with catfish cooking, fled with his wife in the truck and never returned. He later moved counties away and cried recounting the event.
