Early on February 18, 2003, the witness was driving east on Interstate 10 when lights from a passing tractor-trailer revealed a figure stepping onto the highway. He slowed, turned on high beams, and watched a tall reddish-haired non-human creature trot across both lanes and the shoulder in a few steps. The observation lasted up to about 30 seconds from about sixty to seventy yards away.

Two companions were resting by their vehicles while deer hunting in the early afternoon when two bipedal creatures were seen crossing a road from west to east about two-tenths of a mile away toward pines and a swamp. The lead individual was described as a 6.5-foot light-brown male walking hunched, followed about 15 yards behind by a 5.5-foot black female with breasts who appeared to be holding something at her waist. Both were said to walk without locking their knees.

On July 16, 1997, a tour guide driving tourists along a road stopped near a burned-out bridge and watched an upright, hair-covered creature for about 15 minutes from 70 to 80 yards away. The guide moved the bus forward and backward to give passengers views and tried to get a passenger with a telephoto lens to exit for photos, but no one would leave. The guide then drove away and could not relocate the creature on a later return.

In the fall of 1998 two witnesses were asleep at home when they were awakened around 10 p.m. by two extremely loud vocalizations, first a growl and then a rising scream that felt as if it was inside the room. Their two dogs were too frightened to move, and a check outside found nothing.

A family staying in a house in the former town in the forest woke to their car alarm. They saw a large hairy Bigfoot-like creature hitting the car with a big stick as if trying to silence it. When the father shut off the alarm with his keychain, the creature ran off.

As a boy in Florida, the witness took weighted trash cans out early in the morning. When he turned to walk back, the lid with a cinder block came off and he heard a clear voice in his head telling him they were not of this earth and to go home.

A nature photographer reported to the BFRO seeing one feeding at the base of cypress trees near the observation towers off the main road, very early in the morning. The guest cited this report as reason for visiting that trail with his son.
