Five people fishing in a remote creek area found about half a dozen very large footprints that appeared to be about a week old. The tracks ran from the creek across sandy soil toward rocky brush and were described as about 17 inches long and 10 inches wide. Citing a report on the BFRO website, the guest said a police officer walking with friends in the same area in the mid-1970s was screamed at from the woods. The group heard thick popple slashings breaking but could not see what was making the sound.

A driver traveling with family for the holidays pulled off a highway in snow to check a map. A tall, bulky, hair-covered bipedal figure ran toward the car from behind and chased it. A woman driving home in the evening saw an ape-like animal peeking from bushes about twenty feet away, which then ran on two legs into dense woods. She returned later with neighbors and from her car saw it again peering from the fork of a tree while others searched on foot.
