The same witness earlier that day went slightly off trail and found a small barefoot human-like footprint.
Missing Cattle and large footprints found
Two brothers operating a cattle ranch reported losing 300-400 lb calves without trace each May through early July over three to four years, and noted cattle panicking at their approach from a distance. In the third year they found a freshly killed calf with its neck broken, no teeth or claw marks, and a deep parallel-sided bruise, which a vet and others examined. Three sets of large footprints and unknown feces containing smashed bone were also reported.
Scat
The witness later found large green scat containing wood and hair on a service road, collected it in a pan and froze it at home.
