Two brothers waiting outside an abandoned tunnel with dogs heard a loud roar from the trees and something very large breaking branches for about ten minutes. They froze, hearing padding in undergrowth without ever seeing it. Days later they found a very large footprint about twenty inches long.

A resident walking in the woods watched a six-foot old-looking creature with grey skin dig in the earth with a twig, eat what it found, pick its teeth with another twig, weave twigs together, then snap a large branch, lean it against a tree and walk off.
