A game warden driving with two passengers around midnight in moonlight saw a dark man-like figure cross the road in front of him. He slowed to observe the silhouette but continued driving without stopping.

Three men cruising slowly came over a hill to see a black hunched figure in the road. Within about fifty yards it sprang upright, vaulted a fence in one leap and stared with orange eyes. All occupants agreed on seeing a very large hairy man.
