Two friends were returning from a car race in a full-size pickup on a dark, barren highway. The driver noticed a dull white circular light close behind, appearing just off the truck bed within about fifteen feet. When the passenger turned to look directly, the light vanished from its spot without shooting off, leaving both shaken and alert for the rest of the drive.

After starting back toward the clearing they heard a single crisp wood-on-wood knock and then ran to their car.

Two people driving south through a state forest in late morning watched two dark bipedal figures run across the road from west to east. The driver reported seeing both figures cross while the passenger saw the second one as it entered the woods. They stopped, got out, and found large impressions spaced far apart in dry grass but no further visual. An investigator later visited the site and documented road widths and photos.

The witness returned to the same general area with buddies and yelled to provoke a response. From about 100 yards away in the treeline they heard indistinct talking like chatter. The talking then shifted into rhythmic chanting they could not understand, so they started the truck and left.

The witness and two companions were sitting quietly listening for hogs in dense pine woods near a river and swamp when they heard a limb snap and saw a bird fly off. Minutes later they heard two sequences of three very loud knocks from different estimated distances. Thinking the sounds might be other hunters, they walked back to the road but saw no other vehicles.

The witness was driving south on US1 just after sunset after working late when they noticed a very tall, shaggy light-colored figure walking north on the west side of the road near a state park. They slowed as they drew level with it while it was also lit by another truck's headlights, observing an ape-like face and a bump on top of its head. The figure kept walking straight ahead without reacting to the vehicles.

The witness was driving south on Highway 11 late at night with a bright light bar on when a tall hairy biped crossed the road ahead and stepped over a guardrail into the trees. The witness slowed, noted large wet footprints on the pavement where it crossed, then turned around and drove back but saw only a disturbed spot at the treeline. The witness estimated the creature was 7-8 feet tall with reddish-brown shaggy hair and a large chest, seen for only a couple seconds.

A couple parked off a dirt road in a Florida state reserve and walked around, turning back from a lower swampy area. After returning to a dirt path, they heard loud banging like hitting trees that alternated back and forth between two directions. They listened briefly, could not explain the purpose, then walked back to the car and left.

The witness was riding a motorcycle north in the morning when a brown figure crossed the road from east to west. The figure moved quickly in a smooth bipedal walk, covering the road in three or four long strides, unlike a bounding deer. After riding through the crossing location, the witness smelled a light skunky body odor lingering for several yards.

The witness was riding an ATV alone along the reservation fence line in the evening when he felt sudden dread. He came to a clearing and saw a large brown hairy figure standing about 15 yards away. After mistaking it for a bear then a dead tree, he saw its lighter face, eyes, nose and mouth blink and lock eyes with him for seconds before he fled fast to his house and told his family, sleeping little that night.

A witness preparing breakfast saw movement outside the kitchen window and watched a tall, slim, dark bipedal figure about 50 ft away walk from trees toward a wooded area. After about ten minutes a large dark bipedal figure crossed the open area toward the treeline and stepped into the woods when the witness got out for a closer look. The witness watched from the vehicle, called someone, and recorded video on a phone. A dismantled deer carcass was found very close by.

After briefly looking at each other, they found it had slipped out of view. Minutes later they heard another crunch and glimpsed the same figure heading toward thicker brush near a creek bottom, shortly after which two does hurried past as if fleeing.

The witness was driving on Interstate 10 in daylight after heavy rain when traffic ahead slowed. Beyond the guardrail near a gully the witness saw a large hair-covered creature in profile to back view. It stepped down through the gully and into the treeline with smooth motion.

The witness was riding as a passenger on Highway 301 in daylight when she looked toward a creek and saw a large white hair-covered biped stepping over the water. The sighting lasted a second or two and the figure did not look toward the car. Her husband, who was driving, did not see it.
Possible roadside sighting in the daytime in Myakka City
The witness was driving east with a companion on a private dirt road in daylight when she noticed a dark, shaggy shape behind a fence near Long Creek. She described it as crouched or standing motionless, with a pointed head and broad shoulders, about three feet taller than the fence, and believed it was trying to remain unseen. The companion did not see it, and when they turned around and returned the shape was gone, but they found what they thought were two footprints nearby.
