The witness and his wife were driving south on the Richardson Highway on a Sunday morning to get breakfast when a very large furry biped ran across the road in front of them. It crossed in only a few running steps and went into the ditch and timber. The witness described its arms and legs as human-like and its fur as dark possibly with auburn tips, and judged it too large and fast to be a human.

Driving home on Auburn Drive in Fairbanks in July 2009 around 6 p.m., the witness noticed a figure standing by the roadside about 100 yards ahead. The witness stopped at the entry point, later circled via side roads to the school parking lot to look into the woods, but did not see it again.

After noticing strange tracks and a depression in fresh snow, the witness's headlight illuminated a figure about 10 to 12 feet ahead running away. The figure ran through deep snow, jumped over a snow-covered log, and disappeared into trees and darkness. The witness turned back, rejoined the companions, and left the area.

The witness and three companions took a late-night winter walk on game and recreational trails in the woods. On the way back they heard footsteps and branches breaking around them and something repeatedly threw snow or hard snow clods at them, while dogs barked nearby and a rank carcass-like odor was noticed. They jogged most of the way out, leaving around 3-3:30 a.m., and the witness believed deep snow ruled out a prank by a person.
