Around 11:30 at night the witness rounded an S-curve and saw a tall cinnamon-colored hairy figure within 12 feet. It crossed a lane-and-a-half county road on two legs in about three steps from cornfield to timber. He first thought bear, then realized it stayed upright, stood about eight feet tall, with gray skin on the face and hands and wispy hair.

The witness and a companion were hiking a loop trail when they heard a very loud, sharp knock from a steep hilltop above them. They stopped to scan the ridgeline but saw nothing due to dense vegetation. The witness then heard a brief sound of movement in the brush uphill before they continued back to the trailhead.

The witness and a young relative were turkey hunting in a state forest in the morning when the relative first spotted a figure. The witness then watched a grey, powerfully built figure about six feet tall move away from them, covering over 50 meters in seconds. They later retraced the same route and found it took them about six minutes.

The witness and his wife were asleep in their camper at a campground when they were woken by very loud, deep, long howls from very close by. The close howls occurred twice, and each time a similar call answered from across the lake. They stayed awake listening but heard nothing further and felt the sounds were not a dog, coyote, or human.

The witness reported seeing a very large dark shaggy figure at a trail head at the edge of woods near home in mid-morning. The figure stood motionless after noticing the witness, then vanished during a brief 4-5 second glance away. A later size-comparison photo suggested the figure was much larger than the witness.
Possible nighttime encounter by a couple camping near Martinsville
A couple camping alone in a state forestry heard large movements around camp all evening. Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.
Eight years ago like it was only eight days
The witness and a companion were in bed at a rented cabin late at night when their dogs became agitated and then unusually quiet. A companion heard heavy breathing just beside the front door in the dark and noticed a strong musky odor. After preparing a light, they found large wet footprints crossing the porch, and the dogs remained unsettled all night.

The witness was fishing with two children and a dog at a remote lake when they heard a loud crash and tree-breaking sounds nearby. Over the next few hours they heard repeated rhythmic knocking, noticed a strong foul odor, and saw the dog become frightened and cling to them. They also noted many small snapped trees and worn foliage around the lake. They left in the afternoon feeling watched without ever seeing an animal.

The witness and a female companion were hiking in a wooded area in the morning when they heard very loud rustling like a small tree being shaken, followed by a long low howl, growls, grunts, snorts and squeals. The same sequence repeated a couple minutes later. They did not see what made the sounds and left within minutes.

The witness and three friends went ghost hunting at a remote cemetery in a forest late at night. After hearing grunting and footsteps paralleling them on a footpath, the friends fled while the witness turned to face a very tall dark figure swaying side to side that changed expression on eye contact and huffed, exposing a foul breath odor. When a friend shouted his name, the figure leapt away, and the witness ran to the car.

Late at night, the witness and two companions were searching near a campfire for a lost kitten when they heard a single loud, unfamiliar scream-howl from nearby. The sound lasted several seconds and was followed by several minutes of responses from cattle, coyotes, and birds along the river. The witness, who reports familiarity with local wildlife sounds, stated the initial vocalization did not match any known animal.

The witness screwed a peanut butter jar to a tree to photograph deer. One camera frame was completely black and the jar was gone in the next. He later found the lid with a small molar-like bite mark.

Three hunters were sitting on a peninsula at dawn when they heard an extremely loud roar-moan from across a bay that lasted several seconds and ended in a low growl. They stood and looked but saw nothing except a beaver in the water. A few minutes later they heard an identical sound from much farther away. They later decided the sound matched Bigfoot recordings found online.

In February 2009 after snow, the witness was hiking back toward the truck in Shades State Park with a child while periodically making tree knocks. After one set of knocks the witness heard an immediate very loud and powerful growl. The witness then hurried the child to the truck.

The witness and a companion arrived at a house at night and heard repeated loud moans. After the witness called back, nearby trees shook and dogs barked in succession. A grayish two-legged figure then ran quickly across a field with long strides and dropped behind vegetation. Shortly after, metal clanking was heard and lawn furniture was found displaced.

The witness was changing a tire on his car at about 10PM when he heard powerful whooping calls from the woods behind his residence, followed by wood knocks. He said the calls resembled those he had heard on this site. He reported having heard primate-like calls from the same woods for about eighteen months and believes one or more animals are living there.
Bow hunter has possible encounter while in his tree stand near LaPorte
The witness was deer hunting from a tree stand in the evening when two does fled past appearing nervous. He then smelled a strong foul odor, a log was thrown against the base of his tree, and something moved away through thick brush without being clearly seen. A loud scream was heard shortly afterward from the far end of the woods, after which he remained in the stand for about an hour before leaving.

The witness was riding at the back of a large group of ATVs at night through a muddy, wooded trail. As he approached a large tree, he made eye contact with a tall, muscular, hair-covered figure pressed flat against the tree with its hands on the trunk. After a stare lasting about 15 seconds, the witness rode past within a few feet, looked back, and saw the figure take one quick step and disappear into the darkness.
