The witness was riding in the back of a military truck with their platoon traveling on dirt roads to an overnight guard assignment. At a T-intersection, the witness saw a tall brown-haired figure on the road about 30-40 feet away that looked toward the vehicle and then ambled across into the woods. The sighting lasted about 10 seconds and no one else in the truck was awake to see it. The witness was dropped at a remote bridge site about 10 minutes later and spent the night there.

At night the group had wood chunks and pebbles thrown at them and heard loud whooping, and companions heard splashing while night fishing. When the witness was 11, a very tall hair-covered creature stood outside the house window for a few minutes late at night before walking around the side of the house. The next day the witness and a sibling found large footprints around the house and estimated the creature's height from the window measurement. Two brothers riding an ATV on their wooded property in winter saw a large dark creature moving through pine trees about 75 yards away. The witness described it as at least 6 to 7 feet tall, stocky, with dark brown medium-length hair, but could not discern facial features. Frightened, they fled back to the house without returning to check for tracks.

In 1980 the witness was driving with a relative in the early morning to catch a bus for a trip when a brown, hairy form crossed their path near a small wooden bridge over a creek. The witness reported seeing only from the foot to the ankle in dim car lights while the companion reported seeing up to the knee, and the form crossed in about three strides. Both occupants were awestruck and left quickly without further observation.

From the tent flap the witness watched a tall broad ape-like creature pry open the troop food box and eat bread and donuts. He whistled twice thinking it was another hunter but received no response and concluded it was not a man. He retreated toward the house via a dried slough while hearing limbs popping behind him that stopped when he stopped and resumed when he moved.
