He hid in a log pile as something ran back and forth, then met it face to face near a fence and pine tree at close range. He fled through the fence, drove home, and was told by his father and grandfather to leave it alone.

After it crawled away they examined the vomit and found household garbage and a whole kitchen towel. He believed it had eaten from garbage cans near isolated houses and made itself sick.

They heard distress vocals, footsteps, sticks breaking and a log thrown into the water, and [name withheld] glimpsed movement. [name withheld] then saw five individuals across the water with night vision and they packed up and drove out through a muddy levee and gate.

The host's brother recalled being out at night with the host near Yakult when they noticed three balls of light down by the water. One light appeared to move along with them as they stayed on higher ground. He said video of the lights was posted and that the sighting changed his prior skepticism.

A month or so before the later backpacking incident, the witness camped with his daughter and her friend. The girls saw something large moving just outside the firelight and going behind the tent. When the witness approached with a light, a pine cone flew out close to him, he felt he should not go farther, and he brought the girls into the tent.

The witness and a friend backpacked seven miles into a remote high lake and camped apart. Around 2 a.m. a loud slap, a mimicked crow call with a deep gurgly ending, and bipedal footsteps woke the witness. A massive wide-shouldered silhouette with a small-seeming head was seen swaying behind the light tent fabric, then moved around the tent for hours, charged at one point, and left near first light.
