Daylight sighting by hunter near the Alabama / Mississippi border
Late one afternoon in December 2002 the witness was hunting along a fenceline near home when deer ran past and the witness's dog chased them then fled. Shortly after the witness heard movement in a pine thicket and saw a tall hairy biped emerge, run down the fenceline, cross the fence while chasing the deer, and disappear downhill in under a minute without acknowledging the witness. A follow-up interview added size and appearance details and noted missing pets and livestock near the home.

Both heard screaming near the corral gate, the wife ran inside frightened and horses fled, and the witness glimpsed a very tall dark furry figure moving through a lit patch while it screamed and made clicking growling noises before he went back inside and locked doors.

Looking up, the witness saw two eyes on a rear road as coyotes erupted, then retreated to lock inside the hut and later told the father nothing was seen.

The witness was tent camping on family property and stepped a few steps from camp around midnight to relieve himself. He heard three loud whacking sounds like leather striking a pine, then several seconds of steps, then three strikes again from an estimated thirty to forty yards away. He stood briefly, heard nothing further, and returned to his tent.
