On the morning of November 15, the witness was deer hunting when back-and-forth calling was heard lasting until daybreak. The sounds were described as lower pitched than coyote or wolf and coming from nearby, with knocks to the northwest preceding howling from the southwest. The woods were unusually quiet, with spooky deer and few gunshots despite many hunters in the area.

Two relatives found unusually large footprints soon after rain and photographed them. The larger impression was described as about 18 inches long and 6 inches wide with three clear toes and a possible fourth, with smaller tracks alongside. The witness was driving on a paved road through pine forest on a clear afternoon and crested a hill. A tall creature with broad shoulders and reddish-brown matted fur emerged and crossed the road just ahead of the car in a few fast strides. The witness reported a good view of the body but did not get a clear view of the face, as the creature did not look toward the car.

The witness was hunting at dusk and scanning a clearing with binoculars from about 200 yards away when two brown creatures were seen foraging in brush. After watching about a minute the witness fired a bow shot to scare them. The witness climbed into a deer blind before dawn to hunt. Shortly after sitting down, he heard a sustained higher-pitched howl from one side and a lower sustained response from the other side, neither matching animals he knew. Minutes later while getting binoculars from his truck, he heard a low gruff voice-like sound resembling "Hey You" from close range, then returned to the blind.

While hunting deer in the late morning, the witness found two sizes of barefoot-like impressions in frozen dirt along the same trail. Some impressions showed five toes with no claw marks. The witness entered the woods before daylight to deer hunt and heard grunting and heavy movement walking down a ridge behind him. After daylight he went to the area where the sounds originated and found bedding, hair, and broken branches along the path. The experience left the witness scared and uneasy.

The investigator and several companions were walking a grass road at night and made a loud call. A long drawn-out answer came from dense woods that sounded like a flawed coyote imitation. Owls called nearby and the group felt the source paralleled them.

In winter around November the witness camped about three-quarters of a mile from a parabolic recorder aimed west toward a structure or trail area. The witness did not hear anything at camp, but the parabolic captured long-distance screams. A very similar scream was recorded again on another fall or winter occasion.
Chatter (2013)
The guest was alone having a barbecue at a ridge lookout in a national park when he heard fast unintelligible voices that fell silent after he called out. After a long silence he saw yellow eyeshine in the gully, then a large hairy upright figure by a tree, followed by a second smaller eyeshine, thumping sounds and a long loud howl. While driving slowly away down a rocky track he felt something shunt the back of his car but saw nothing when he braked.

The witness, his wife, and two dogs stayed at the family cabin months after a large fire. At night something thumped the house hard and moved outside while the dogs cowered. The next morning the woods were silent, neighbors reported something stomping around, and acorns and pebbles were thrown toward them near the car.

The witness was hunting from a tree stand behind the house in early morning light when a doe ran past and then ran back and sheltered under the stand. Shortly after the witness saw a broad ape-like animal walk down a hill, stop and stare, then drop into a ditch using a hand and disappear. The witness froze, then ran home and initially told family it was a bear.

The witness was away deer hunting while contractors re-sided the home. The contractors reported having rocks thrown at them over two days, with one rock hitting a worker, followed on two later evenings by loud growls from woods only yards behind them. They dropped their tools and left promptly each night.

The witness sat in a parked car using a predator call to attract coyotes. Looking in the rearview mirror, they saw a hairy figure peeking from behind a tree about 60 feet away, watching the car, then moving to a second tree before disappearing from view. About 20 minutes later a cow elk walked through the same area, which the witness used to estimate the figure's height at about six feet.

The witness was driving toward Mt Bachelor on a clear cold morning when a very large dark figure crossed the highway in three large steps. The figure moved upright on two legs and disappeared into dense pine forest. The witness's car and another car slowed near where it entered the trees, but the figure was not relocated in the brush.
